Ayodhya is bustling with preparations for the upcoming Pran Pratishtha ceremony, scheduled for January 22. The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) and Vihip, along with several prominent leaders from the RSS and Vihip, are actively engaged in a comprehensive camp to ensure the smooth execution of arrangements.
Various responsibilities have been delegated among leaders, with Rajendra Singh Pankaj taking charge of the entire event, including the operation of the dining facilities. Chintamani Singh from Vidya Bharati, known for his experience working in Ramnagari, has joined as an assistant to assist in the preparations.
The rejuvenation process is not limited to event logistics but extends to the expansion of rail services. Discussions with Shobhan Choudhury, the General Manager of North Railways, indicate that after the completion of the doubling work, new trains will operate from Ramnagari, providing a golden era of extended rail services. Special attention is being given to the track infrastructure to support increased train operations.
The Pran Pratishtha festival is anticipated to bring a substantial influx of pilgrims, prompting considerations for their convenience and accommodation. Vihip’s regional intellectual head, Mithilesh Narayan, has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing guest invitations. Additionally, Mukesh from the Transportation Department will handle public relations.
With just over a month left, Ayodhya Junction has become a focal point for redevelopment. GM Shobhan Choudhury emphasized that the second phase of redevelopment could take around one and a half to two years, focusing on increasing the number of platforms from three to six. The plan includes new buildings, ongoing construction of the air concourse, passenger facilities, traffic management, and parking arrangements.
Regarding the operation of special trains for the Pran Pratishtha festival, GM Shobhan Choudhury stated that the decision lies with the ministry. If needed, special trains will be operated to facilitate pilgrims and visitors. The rejuvenation efforts are not limited to Ramnagari, as Ayodhya Cantt Station is also set to undergo redevelopment. Alternative arrangements and policies for passenger management are under review to enhance travel facilities.
The holistic approach towards city development, coupled with a focus on preserving cultural heritage, is indicative of the comprehensive efforts underway as Ayodhya prepares for the significant Pran Pratishtha festival.
