In anticipation of the consecration ceremony for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Alok Kumar revealed that both BJP veterans, LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, expressed their intent to attend the event. However, Ram Temple Trust Chairperson Champat Rai later conveyed that, due to health and age considerations, it is unlikely for both leaders to be present.
“The pioneers of the Ram Mandir movement, Advani ji and Murli Manohar Joshi ji were invited to attend the consecration ceremony. Both of them said that they would try their best to come,” stated Alok Kumar. Nevertheless, Rai clarified that, given their seniority and age, both leaders were advised not to attend, a suggestion that was accepted by Advani and Joshi.
Preparations for the ceremony, scheduled to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are in full swing and expected to conclude by January 15. The ‘praan pratistha’ puja will commence on January 16 and continue until the main event on January 22.
LK Advani, aged 96, and Murli Manohar Joshi, turning 90 next month, played pivotal roles in the Ram Temple movement, culminating in a landmark Supreme Court ruling in favour of the Hindu side in the decades-old title dispute case.
The guest list for the event features notable personalities from various fields, including spiritual leader Dalai Lama, Mata Amritanandamayi of Kerala, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and cinema stars Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Arun Govil, and film director Madhur Bhandarkar. Additionally, prominent industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani, renowned painter Vasudev Kamat, ISRO Director Nilesh Desai, and other distinguished individuals have been invited.
As the nation eagerly anticipates the historic event, the consecration ceremony is poised to be a momentous occasion, with a diverse array of guests gracing the auspicious day.
