Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: The much-anticipated construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is progressing at a steady pace, with the committee aiming for completion by December 2024, according to temple construction committee chairperson Nripendra Misra.
In an interview with PTI, Misra emphasized the team’s commitment to upholding the principles of “maryada” (proper conduct) as laid out by Lord Ram in building the temple. He assured that the sprawling complex, which will include additional structures beyond the main temple, is being constructed with high quality and longevity in mind.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the temple’s consecration ceremony planned for January 22, adding to the significance of the project. The ground floor of the temple is already complete, and construction of the first and second floors is set to be finished by December, Misra confirmed.
Despite challenges encountered during the construction process, the committee chairperson expressed confidence in their ability to overcome them. “Challenges come up every day,” he said, “But, I feel, the challenges got resolved on their own. Next morning, we would see the solutions coming up on its own.”
Trust general secretary Champat Rai has reportedly provided clear instructions on adhering to regulations and ethical principles throughout the construction. “He is very clear,” Misra stated. “Whatever tax is to be submitted to government, (has to) be done. So we all (are) abiding by that ‘maryada’.”
The dedication to quality and adhering to both religious and legal guidelines suggests the Ram temple project is approaching a significant milestone. The anticipated completion date in December and the potential presence of Prime Minister Modi at the consecration ceremony further emphasize the importance and spiritual significance of this undertaking.
